Many Many congratulations to all the Sikh community of the birthday of the first Sikh Guru Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. This year the Gurpurab is on Sunday 21st November 2010. The celebration of this Gurpurab remind us the teaching of the Guru.Guru Nanak Dev Ji was born on 14 April 1469 in Rai-Bhoi-di Talwandi in the present Shekhupura District of Pakistan, now Nankana Sahib. The birthday of Guru Nanak Sahib falls on Kartik Poornima, i.e., the day of the full moon in the month of Kartik.
Guru Nanak Dev Ji was the founder of Sikhism and it is a way of life and philosophy well ahead of its time when it was founded over 500 years ago, The Sikh religion today has a following of over 20 million people worldwide. Sikhism preaches a message of devotion and remembrance of God at all times, truthful living, equality of mankind, social justice and denounces superstitions and blind rituals. Sikhism is open to all through the teachings of its 10 Gurus enshrined in the Sikh Holy Book and Living Guru, Sri Guru Granth Sahib.
So lets try to follow the teaching of the Guru Nanak Dev ji on his Birthday and make our life full of peace and love.
